The Supreme Court has effectively ended federal protections for abortion access.
We are extremely disappointed in the Supreme Court’s decision to reverse the important reproductive freedoms established decades ago in the landmark Roe vs. Wade case. While we are grateful that New York State has strong protections for the rights of people to choose what happens to their bodies, we know that millions who live in other states are facing a vastly different situation. In particular, communities of color, LGBTQ, immigrants, young people, disabled people, those experiencing homelessness or living in poverty will feel the consequences of the Supreme Court’s decision most harshly. Neighborhood Health Center believes that we all deserve equitable access to sexual and reproductive healthcare, regardless of who we are and where we live. We will continue to be here to serve our patients, and welcome new patients, as we provide vital healthcare that is respectful of the human rights of the most vulnerable communities while abiding by all rules regarding the spending of federal dollars.
