Former Buffalo Public School #79 becomes the Northwest Buffalo Community Center.

1986

Affordable Healthcare

Citizens of the Riverside/Black Rock area recognize the need for affordable healthcare in the community and appeal to the local government.

Construction begins for a new family health center in the old auditorium of the community center.

1987

A New Health Center

Northwest Buffalo Community Health Care Center officially opens doors to patients for Internal Medicine, OB-GYN and Pediatrics.

1988

New Dental Department

Northwest Buffalo Community Health Care Center expands to include a Dental department.

1998

Southtowns Women’s Group

Southtowns Women’s Group opens in Hamburg, providing OB-GYN care to the Buffalo Southtowns population.

2009

Behavioral Health Services Added

Northwest Buffalo Community Health Care Center adds Behavioral Health services.

2011

Becoming Neighborhood Health Center

Northwest Buffalo Community Health Care Center officially becomes Neighborhood Health Center.

Neighborhood Health Center at Mattina opens at 300 Niagara Street, becoming the organization’s third office.

2012

National Health Care for the Homeless

Neighborhood Health Center is officially designated as a National Health Care for the Homeless site.

2017

New Location

Neighborhood Health Center opens a fourth location in Blasdell.

2018

Office Relocation

Neighborhood Health Center expands footprint in Hamburg with relocation of Southtowns office to 151 Elmview Avenue.

2019

Patient Accessibility Expanded

‘Suite B’ officially opens to expand patient access at the Northwest office.

Neighborhood Health Center ‘Health in Motion’ mobile unit begins to provide services to Buffalo Public School students.
