Neighborhood addresses the needs of surrounding communities by introducing psychiatry as a new service.
Psychiatry services are now available at Neighborhood!
We believe our health center should be responsive to community needs. So, when we consider adding services at Neighborhood, we first study the healthcare gaps in the community. We’ve learned there is a need for psychiatry and that’s why we’ve added it to our services at our Riverway site (1569 Niagara Street).
Psychiatrists focus primarily on biological aspects of mental health. They can prescribe medications, provide psychiatric evaluations, treat psychiatric disorders, and provide psychotherapy.
Leading this new service is psychiatrist Dr. Sam Rothman who we’ve welcomed to the Neighborhood team. He is a graduate of University at Buffalo and St. George's University School of Medicine. He is board certified under the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and specializes in child/adolescent psychiatry.
Neighborhood’s psychiatry department collaborates with your primary care provider and therapist/counselor to care for the whole you, physically and mentally. To make a psychiatry appointment, speak with your Neighborhood primary care provider or therapist/counselor.
