Neighborhood is federally funded to specifically serve individuals experiencing homelessness.
Congratulations are in order for Neighborhood Health Center’s Janette Evans, who was awarded the Killian Vetter Achievement Award at this year’s Homeless Alliance of Western New York’s Annual Luncheon. Killian Vetter was one of the founders of the Erie County Commission on Homelessness. The Killian Vetter Individual Achievement Award recognizes the hard work and dedication of an individual who has worked on behalf of homeless and low-income persons.
Janette Evans is a Nurse Practitioner and Health Care for the Homeless provider at Neighborhood and has been a fierce advocate for persons experiencing homelessness with a focus on health and healthcare needs and has developed partnerships with numerous organizations to improve healthcare access for those experiencing homelessness.
Neighborhood’s Health Care for the Homeless program provides access to comprehensive primary care, oral health, mental health and substance use services, as well as supportive community health services at no cost to the patient.
Although Janette is leaving Buffalo for new adventures and will surely be missed, Neighborhood is proud of the work she has done and the imprint she has left on our community.
