The Ambassador Giving program is a way for employees to spread kindness beyond the health center walls.
On a recent snowy afternoon, several Neighborhood Health Center employees made their way to the offices of the Northwest Buffalo Community Center to present a check for $5,000 to the community center leaders to support the center’s youth programs. The money was raised by Neighborhood employees over the course of 2024 through their voluntary donations to Neighborhood’s Ambassador Giving Fund, which is aimed at finding opportunities to help patients and community members who are facing obstacles. Through this program, the values of kindness, teamwork, and commitment to justice shine.
For the last few years, Ambassador Giving funds have been used to buy gift cards that are given to families and individuals in need of extra assistance in December. This year, in addition to providing dozens with gift cards, Neighborhood employees were asked if they’d like to also give a donation from the fund to a community organization or program. From employee feedback, the Northwest Buffalo Community Center was chosen as the donation recipient.
“The community center and Neighborhood Health Center have always been great partners,” said Larry Pernick, Jr., executive director of the Northwest Buffalo Community Center. “We very much appreciate this donation to support our youth programs.”
Participation in the Ambassador Giving Fund in one way Neighborhood employees can have a positive impact on people's lives beyond the walls of the health center.
