Hispanic Heritage Month runs from September 15 through October 15.
Neighborhood Health Center has a rich history of serving Western New York's Hispanic community, particularly at Neighborhood's Mattina location at 300 Niagara Street in Buffalo. When you visit Mattina, you may notice the collection of photographs displayed on the walls. These are the work of Milton Rogovin, an optometrist and photographer who has photographed people and places all over the world.
The collection on display at Mattina is called "Lower West Side Triptychs 1972-1994." The photos in this series document the lives of the people over a 20 year span on Buffalo's lower west side. His photographs capture some of the Hispanic culture in the area. Be sure to take a look at the collection the next time you're at Mattina.
