Stress symptoms can range from aches and pains to high blood pressure, and can weaken your immune system.
“Battling stress is a team effort, when you have healthy strategies to cope with stress inducing situations it makes a huge difference,” says Neighborhood Health Center Wellness Department Chair Dana Ingebretson, MS, RD. “Our wellness department’s objective is to assist patients in finding what techniques work for them and their lifestyle.”
Here are some stress-relieving actions to try:
Exercise
Whether it’s a brief walk or full workout, getting physically active can have positive effects on your mood.
Prioritize
It’s okay to say “no” when you have a full plate; try not to take on additional responsibilities when you’re busy or stressed.
Supportive Services
If the above tips aren’t working for you, it’s okay to ask for help. Contact our Behavioral Health or Wellness departments for an appointment. Trained professionals are here to support you in finding a healthy outlet.
