Sleeping isn’t an option, so let's prioritize it.
"Getting adequate sleep can help support your health in multiple ways," says Neighborhood's Wellness Department Chair Dana Ingebretson, MS, RD, CDE, CDN. "If you are an adult and getting less than 7 hours of sleep most nights, you may want to look at some techniques to improve your sleep schedule. Even small improvements can add up, and your body will thank you for prioritizing getting enough rest."
Here are some tips to help you get enough sleep to care for your health & body:
1. Set a sleep schedule: try to go to bed and wake up around the same time most days.
2. Limit heavier eating or drinking several hours before bed.
3. Aim to stop using electronic devices an hour before bedtime.
4. Create a helpful environment for sleep: changing the temperature and limiting light can both help ensure a better night's sleep.
