Neighborhood leadership advocates for health center patients in D.C.
Neighborhood Health Center's President & CEO Joanne Haefner and Vice President of Strategy Kelly Suzan went to our nation's capital the week of February 12 for the National Association of Community Health Centers' Policy and Issues Forum. They spoke with lawmakers about the important role of health centers in our communities. One in 11 Americans is a health center patient.
In the first picture, Kelly (far right) is with representatives of other health centers in New York and Senator Kirsten Gillibrand Legislative Assistant Jasmin Palomares (books in arms).
In the picture below, Joanne (2nd from right), Kelly, and other health center representatives are with Colin Witman (center, blue suit), a legislative aide to Rep. Nick Langworthy. Thank you for talking with us about health centers and the work we do, and for supporting HR5378, the Lower Costs and More Transparency Act.
Please tell your lawmakers to support funding for your health center, and to reauthorize health center funding before the continuing resolution ends on 3/8!
