Working with my primary care physician and his family, seeing how they cared for the whole family, and seeing one nurse care for the patient's needs inspired me. Her love and passion for nursing made me realize that is what I wanted to do. She loved what she did and she loved her patients. So, I changed my major from accounting to nursing. I never looked back. In fact, I was nominated for Nurse of Distinction.
Patients continue to inspire me to do the work I have done for almost 22 years. Each time we help a patient reminds me why I do this job. To help those in need and to give them what is needed for them to be healthier. Taking the time to get to know your patient and giving them the tools to become a healthier version of themselves.
Playing golf, gardening and spending time with my family and friends.
