Who has been influential to you in your career path, and, how this person has influenced you?

Many of the preceptors I have had the pleasure of learning from have greatly impacted my career path. I was fortunate enough to work with a few of the OB-GYN providers at Neighborhood Health Center, and they helped to solidify my interest in joining the team.

Is there anything else you'd like people to know about you? 

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my husband, our dog, and our two cats. I value kindness, empathy, and a good sense of humor, and I try to bring those qualities into both my personal life and patient care.

What do you enjoy doing when you're not working?

Reading and camping!

Describe a time in your life when you experienced, or witnessed, the importance of good quality healthcare.

One experience that stands out was caring for a patient who did not speak English and required the use of a medical interpreter. By taking the time to provide thorough education through the interpreter, answer questions, and ensure understanding, the patient was able to actively participate in their care and felt more confident about their treatment plan. It reinforced for me how high-quality healthcare goes beyond clinical care, it also means ensuring every patient has access to clear communication and education, regardless of language barriers.

What is something about your education experience that is unique?

While I technically have graduated as a Family NP, I was able to complete over 400 hours of clinical time in OB-GYN. I also focused my DNP project on pain relief methods for IUD insertion, which is something I am incredibly passionate about.
