Who has been influential to you in your career?
My godmother Jane was instrumental in my career path. She always encouraged my educational and personal pursuits. She was brave, compassionate and an excellent advocate for herself and others. She showed grace and courage throughout her life, especially after she was diagnosed with breast cancer and then later ovarian cancer. Her influence over me professionally and personally will always be a blessing.
When have you experienced, or witnessed, the importance of good quality healthcare?
When a loved one of mine was younger, she was diagnosed with bipolar disorder. I witnessed how compassion, communication, and open-mindedness within the patient-provider relationship allowed for the greatest health of the patient.
