Just because someone is experiencing homelessness doesn't mean that person has to go without quality healthcare.
Kind and compassionate Community Health Workers (CHWs) from Neighborhood Health Center participated in the 13th Annual Project Homeless Connect on Thursday, October 28, 2021 at the Buffalo City Mission. The CHWs assisted individuals during the event by connecting them to healthcare appointments at Neighborhood Health Center, offering support with insurance enrollments, and providing health screenings and social supports.
The WNY Coalition for the Homeless coordinates this event each year with a goal of connecting people who are experiencing homeless, or at risk for homelessness, to community resources and medical services. Neighborhood Health Center has participated every year with the exception of 2020 due to COVID restrictions.
