Back in summer 2022, Neighborhood Health Center celebrated the opening of its sixth location in Western New York – Neighborhood Health Center Riverway at 1569 Niagara Street, Buffalo. When this location opened, the dental suite at Neighborhood Health Center Mattina, 300 Niagara Street, shut down temporarily to make way for an expansion. After a year of construction at Mattina, the new two-story addition opened in August 2023 with a dental suite that is double the size of the old one.

This expansion is supported by the Delta Dental Community Care Foundation. The $90,000 grant is helping Neighborhood to purchase equipment for the dental suite.

“There is a dire need for high quality, affordable dental care in our community,” said Dr. Chad Kahler, dental director at Neighborhood Health Center. “Good dental care can be life changing for patients in a positive way. At Neighborhood, we believe that whether you get good quality dental care shouldn’t be dependent on your financial situation.”

Neighborhood celebrated the grand opening of the expanded dental suite at Mattina during National Health Center Week, August 7-11, 2023.

"We are excited about the new changes to the Mattina location and are thankful for the grant we received from Delta Dental,” said Dr. Kahler. “By improving infrastructure and purchasing new equipment we can increase access to dental care for many in the community."
