The "Business First" Excellence in Health Care awards honor high-achieving and hard-working professionals in the health care industry. Neighborhood Health Center's Dr. Ellis Gomez is one of this year's 25 winners. The group of honorees is composed of physicians, nurses, administrators, board members, advocates and researchers whose work has improved the way the health system works in Western New York.

Dr. Gomez  has been caring for patients on the west side of Buffalo for more than 30 years, and she serves as the site medical director at Neighborhood Health Center Mattina. The Excellence in Health Care award is recognition that she is a trusted and respected healthcare provider in the community, and she is working toward building a healthy and equitable Western New York through high quality and individualized healthcare.
