New York State Senator Jeremy Zellner and U.S. Representative Tim Kennedy are speaking up about the importance of the 340B drug pricing program.

This program allows health centers to purchase prescription medications at a discount, and reinvest the savings into patient care. (Click here to learn more about how 340B works)  The savings from the 340B program help health centers address the funding gap they face as a result of outdated Medicaid reimbursement rates that, on average, only reimburse health centers 70% of the actual cost of a patient visit.

Senator Zellner hosted Congressman Kennedy, Neighborhood Health Center President and CEO Joanne Haefner, and leaders from Evergreen Health, Jericho Road Community Health Center, and Trillium Health for a news conference. They called on the NYS Assembly and the Executive branch to join the NYS Senate in supporting legislation to protect 340B.
