Neighborhood Health Center is following the CDC, FDA and New York State Department of Health guidance and pausing the use of the Janssen/Johnson & Johnson (J&J) COVID-19 Vaccine.
Prior to this guidance, Neighborhood Health Center has administered the J&J Vaccine to our patients and community members as part of our effort to support our community and ensure health equity in response to the pandemic.
We are here for our patients and community, always. Patients and community members who have received the J&J Vaccine and develop severe headache, abdominal pain, leg pain, or shortness of breath within three weeks after vaccination should contact their healthcare provider, immediately.
As Neighborhood Health Center continues its vaccination program, we will be proactively contacting those who have upcoming J&J vaccine sessions at our offices to offer the two-dose Moderna COVID-19 Vaccine.
As we continue to closely follow the guidance on the distribution of the J&J Vaccine, we will continue to utilize the Moderna COVID-19 Vaccine moving forward for all appointments, which is still safe and highly effective in significantly reducing risks of illness, hospitalization and death due to the virus.
We will continue to follow the guidance of the CDC and New York State Department of Health and communicate with our patient community as more information is available.
