Most of my spare time is spent with my two rescue dogs. I have a golden retriever husky mix and a border collie lab mix. I never knew I wanted to be a dog mom when I grew up, but here I am! I love cooking/baking, finding new coffee shops (near and far), volunteering, exploring Buffalo architecture and traveling. I spend too much time thrifting for furniture I don’t need but my home appreciates it.
Growing Health at Neighborhood Health Center means continuing to adapt to the needs of the communities we serve. It means growing with them, but more importantly, for them.
Buffalo Community Fridge! They are an awesome organization that has placed refrigerators and pantries in areas most in need of access to fresh, whole foods. As a community volunteer, I am inspired by the dignity that this organization is able to provide. There is something supportive, beautiful and unique about this organization as it gives all people - moms, dads and children – the ability to access food on their own terms, any time of day or night. If you haven't heard of them, check them out and find out how you can help!
Giving people an even playing field, from both an employment and health perspective, is the most rewarding and inspiring part of my job. Communities change with the right access and opportunities. It is an honor to be in a position within an organization that encourages me to make decisions with equity, humanity and care.
